DPR Construction has been issued separate building permits totaling $152 million to construct a hotel/restaurant/spa and surgical center in Wildwood. The projects will expand the The Villages Health Brownwood Care Center with a seven-story, 151 room hotel with conference area, spa, pool, restaurant and a four-story outpatient surgical center with coffee shop. The 285,000 sq. ft. surgical center permit at this stage is for footings only, but it has a $70 million value. The hotel permit is set at $52 million.
The center will be built on a site that is approximately 31 acres in The Villages Brownwood Paddock Square Town Center directly fronting Route 44, and will also be accessible by golf cart, allowing ease and accessibility for more than 120,000 existing residents of The Villages and the broader community, Medical Construction & Design reported earlier.
The Villages Health Brownwood Care Center & Hotel project has been designed by Earl Swensson Associates based in Nashville, TN and the project is expected to take two years to complete.
